Fractured Thought(s) ~ Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

- Adjusting to being a mom of three...definitely different, that's for sure! Thankfully, Miss Bridget is a relatively good baby....a few hiccups here or there with sleepless nights, but all in all, very good.
We are still riding through Sofa City at this point (easier to get up and tend to the baby in the middle of the night without waking the other parent)....but soon will be moving Bridget to her crib.

- Miss Molly lost her first tooth!! I can't believe she's 5 1/2 already....the last 5 years seem to have just rushed by in a furious flash of events. She's halfway to 10....my oldest is going to be NINE....and my little mommy heart is breaking.

- We took the fam to Milwaukee for Bridget's newborn pictures (with the FABULOUS Kara Reese Photography) and took time to point out all of our old haunts to Betty...and have dinner at one of my favorite greasy spoons, The Butler Inn.

I came away feeling really nostalgic for the city as a whole and wondering, again, why we ever left in the first place. So, we are throwing around the idea that when we are ready to move in 2 years time (give or take a few months.....Dave Ramsey dependent) ....we may consider that area again.

It would be good to get back to the place I consider home anyway. It's always felt comfortable to me, and I'm honestly happy to drive there so much in the summer for work. It's my happy place.

- As expected....I gained a bit of extra fluff due to Bridget. 17 lbs or so to be exact. I'll be happy to get the "all is clear" on the blood pressure front and be able to resume some exercise.

- I may have lost my mind a bit, but I decided to write an article and submit it for publication to Scary Mommy. And they actually PUBLISHED it. If you wanna bit of insight into my Type A head, check it out here: http://www.scarymommy.com/raising-children-ocd/

Admitting to the...oh...million or so followers of Scary Mommy that I have OCD wasn't exactly easy, but I find a bit of comfort in the positive response the admission received....and I know now that I'm not even close to being alone in that particular struggle. Not as a woman and not as a mom, definitely.

- Hubby and I got a night out for dinner (Hello Zen Sushi) and drinks at Clara Bo. It was nice to indulge in a bit of bubbly after 9 months : )

- Maternity leave is officially over and I'm back to shooting. I have a WICKED busy summer ahead of me....and it's a bit scary, but I'm welcoming the time to create with open arms! Last summer was kind of a wash, so we are back and committed 100% to Type A!

After June 11th I don't have another Saturday free until September 24.

Whoa. Nellie. Better start looking for some new, comfy work shoes.

It's all about the shoes, people.

- Coming up? Lots of stuff! Headshots GALORE this month! Don't forget, business headshots are on special for $50 until the end of May! This is 50% the normal price.

We are starting wedding season at the end of the month with an A-Team wedding. Like I said, it's going to be a crazy busy summer!

- SENIORS: Seriously, crazy busy.....so you don't want to wait to book your Senior Portrait Session, even if you're looking to do it this fall. I'm already booking September and October senior sessions for folks who want fall color.....so if you wait, all available dates may be taken.

The NEW STUDIO! (WOOT WOO!) opens in June in Milton, WI. Why Milton? Because Milton has an amazing old college campus with amazing old college buildings that have big rooms with amazing light and ROOM to move! No more dark, dingy "shooting space" that is habitually under construction! I cannot WAIT to move!

Milton is still closer than you think and, believe me, the new digs are TOTALLY worth the short drive!

- WEDDINGS: Weddings are completely booked through summer and September (with the exception of the 24th). I have some openings October-December, but otherwise I am booking into 2017.

If you are planning your wedding and would like to inquire about what Type A can bring to your day, fill out a contact form on the site or shoot me an email @ typeaimages@gmail.com

Haven't busted out the big camera TOO much lately.....been pretty tired and WHOA,  3 kids....it slows ya down!

But here's some shots from the last few weeks.

That last set of 4 there are from our session with Miss Kara Reese. She's incredible. Seriously, if you need newborn shots done, she is DEFINITELY the one to call. Not just anyone can pull off gorgeous newborn pictures, believe me...it's a specific skill set that you need to seek out. Watching her work with Bridget was eye opening.

Eye opening in that I am SO not a newborn photographer!

Miss Molly also had her Spring Sing, which I nearly missed because it's the end of the year, I just popped out a baby and I am SPENT....so yeah, notes home have gone unread. #sorrynotsorry

She didn't disappoint. She was definitely in fine Molly form.

Stay tuned to the Facebook page or here on the blog for all the fabulous shoots comin' atcha in the next few weeks.

It's going to be a killer summer!

Bridget Frances Reseburg | April 26, 2016

Finally!

Bridget Frances Reseburg arrived at 10:01 AM on April 26. She weighed 7lbs 6oz, the exact same as Miss Betty when she was born. She even LOOKS just like baby Betty. It's uncanny....and contributing to some MAJOR deja vu.

Just like when I had Molly, I've been spending the last week since Bridget's birth battling post-partum preeclampsia. It's some scary stuff...and although I had warned my doctors about the possibility of it happening again, I really wasn't terribly prepared for it knocking me down as fast as it did.

I went home with Bridget and the first few days were fine and dandy, but by the third post-partum day I was starting not to feel very well. My blood pressure was topping off around 160/110 and higher. Finally, I went to the emergency room and they admitted me back into the hospital for a magnesium IV. That was highly unpleasant, to say the least. Mag makes you feel like absolute GARBAGE.....and I already felt like garbage...so it was just garbage on top of garbage.

I was gonna get released at one point and they readmitted me. We just couldn't get my readings to go down.

They released me this Tuesday and the BP spiked again.

Finally, after trying some different medications over the past few days we seem to have landed on one that worked. With Molly I had to be on bed rest, post-partum, for three weeks. It was awful. I couldn't help with the baby or anything. Thankfully, this doesn't seem to be the case this time around.

Seriously, pregnant ladies...talk to your doctors about post-partum preeclampsia. It's not talked about nearly enough and if gone unchecked can lead to seizure, stroke, or death.

Doctors will tell you that the way to "cure" preeclampsia is to deliver, but this isn't always the case. My blood pressures were completely normal through delivery.

That's my PSA for the day!

Otherwise, the actual birth went REALLY well....I was able to get my epidural (thank the Sweet Baby Jesus) and it was 6 1/2 hours from the time my water broke at home to birth, so relatively short labor time.

I seriously feel like she was the missing piece of our family puzzle and I love her like crazy already.

I will be coming back from maternity leave on May 15th. If you need to schedule anything, let me know and we'll get you in!

Ozaukee Country Club Wedding | Lindsay and Cameron | Mequon WI Wedding Photographer

Who: Lindsay and Cameron

Where: St. Boniface Church ~ Mequon, WI & Ozaukee Country Club

Way back in August I found out I was pregnant with #3....surprise!  Well, it just so happened that, unfortunately, my due date fell on Lindsay and Cameron's wedding day! This was a predicament I had never found myself in before, but I have to say....thank God for great friends who also happen to be phenomenal photographers.

Andrea from Andrea Paradowski Photography, the other half of the A-Team, was able to step in and cover the wedding for me. And she knocked it out of the park, for sure. Even with a little rain....no problem!

Cam and Lindsay, I hope you had a fabulous day! Thank you so much for rollin' with the punches (and pregnancy) and for welcoming Andrea with open arms.

Enjoy your sneak peek!

- STILL. PREGNANT. Okay, yes...I am only 38 weeks 4 days. I still have time. I need to be patient. She'll come when she's ready. BLAH BLAH BLAHDY BLAH BLAH (I may be a tad crabby).

Yesterday I had contractions all day long....nothing regular, all over the friggin' place. Around 6pm they decided to get their act together and start coming at regular intervals. 2-3 minutes apart by the time we decided "eh, let's head for the hospital"

Then, because Baby 3 likes to mess with me, they stopped COLD as soon as I got on the monitor.

Baby, do you not realize every time we grace the halls of Janesville Mercy they charge us about a bajillion dollars?!

Nurse said I was still contracting every 5-6 minutes but nothing else was going on and "wouldn't you be more comfortable laboring at home?"

No. The answer to that is no. I'd be more comfortable getting this show on the road. But, alas, I didn't have much choice in the matter. Baby 3 has decided she's darn comfy where she is at this point so I'm home. Laboring. At least we know things are getting started.....very. slowly.

- I feel like I've watched more TV and movies over the past month than I have in my entire lifetime combined. So far, most of it has been background noise. Did see Seth McFarlane's "100 Ways to Die in the West" which I thought was pretty dang funny. (Plus he's pretty foxy, so that helps).

- Hubby happened upon what is quite possibly our local dream house online. Sadly, we are in absolutely no position to buy right now. I pouted over it for a few days, but I know I have to be all responsible and stuff. Stupid adulthood.

- It was David Tennant's birthday this week. I prayed and prayed for Baby 3 to make her entrance that day so she could share her day of birth with the ultimate Timelord. Wasn't to be. #geekgoals

- So, about a week or so ago I got it in my head that "Hey, you know those articles on places like Scary Mommy and Babble or whatever that people read and pass around Facebook"......I enjoy those....heck, I could WRITE those.....Maybe..... I got adventurous (and lets face it, I was bored)....so I wrote an article. A parenting article. I hemmed and hawwed over actually submitting it because it involves some rather embarrassing personal info about me....but, I decided to quit being a wuss and just see what happens.

Well, they're going to publish it on Scary Mommy. WHOA.  First thought that went through my head was : ABORT! ABORT MISSION!   Articles like that get a wild amount of feedback and not always positive. Can I handle that?

Well, here's hoping...because it drops May 6th.

EEK.

- One of my favorite bands is on an Apple commercial. With a song that came out when I was 21 years old. Lip Sync'd by Taylor Swift. It's now cracked the Top 100 on iTunes downloads.

Now everyone is gonna love Jimmy Eat World......not sure how I feel about that.  : ) I saw Jim Adkins first, ladies! Mitts off!

WORK STUFF

- WEDDINGS: Booking 2017 at this point. Have a precious few dates for late fall/winter 2016 open.

- SENIORS: I am completely full for Summer 2016 weekends, so if you are looking to get your senior portraits done this summer we're going to have to schedule you during the week. Not a problem over here, but I would get your dates in sooner rather than later to avoid being left out in the cold.

- STUDIO: The new studio is going to be located in MILTON, WI.  Why am I moving to Milton, WI? Because the studio is amazing and I get to share it with the other half of the A-Team (Andrea). Stay tuned to the Facebook and Blog for opening day info!

- SALES: Right now I'm running a quick and dirty Mother's Day sale. Make any Smugmug purchase today through April 24 (that's this Sunday) and save 25% off by using the code MOM16.

And now, your moment of Kid Zen.

Fractured Thought(s) ~ Wisconsin Wedding Photographer

- I've reached new levels of BORED. I am not one who can just easily lay around just WAITING for something to happen. But, since I can't really work myself into labor (or will it to be done).....I wait.

I've watched more crappy movies in the last weeks than I care to mention.

19 days to go!!!

- So, Madison's Wizard World came and went....David Tennant and all...and I was not there to welcome him to the great state of Wisconsin with open arms.

Pretty much bummed me out for an entire weekend, but I have high hopes he'll return next year and I can sell a kidney or something in order to attend.

- Been doing quite a bit of coloring with the girls. Snagged myself an Anne of Green Gables adult coloring book at Woodmans (of all places). The other half of the A-Team Andrea also got me a Doctor Who coloring book. Helps pass all this waiting around time.

- That whole nesting thing has taken affect, as much as I can contribute. I'm a bit slow moving as of late but I got a burst of energy yesterday and managed to get some laundry taken care of. The thought of bringing a kiddo home to a less than immaculate house kind of makes my skin crawl.

- Ran up to Milwaukee with my mother-in-law to finish up the baby shopping. Forgot how much fun buying adorable baby clothes is (no matter how impractical they may be sometimes).

- Got in to the hairdresser just in time. Betty got herself some purple streaks (what a rebel!) and I went red. Still getting used to it and may lighten it up just a TAD next time......plus I had way too much cut off. Thankfully my hair grows like a weed.

- Survived the primaries here in WI. If anything, this election year has been entertaining....to say the least. It's also led to a lot of Facebook hiding.

- Have you had a chance to check out my personal finance blog yet? As if I didn't have enough going on with, you know, growing a kid and photographing things and stuff....I started a personal finance blog. Yup. It's kind a "hobby" of mine...if that can be a hobby. I'd love if you'd check it out HERE

- WEDDINGS!! People have been majorly on the ball with wedding inquiries for 2017 these past few weeks. Looks like early bookings are going to be the name of the game this season...thus far. So, if you're planning your 2017 wedding, rest assured popular dates are already being looked at. I'd love to chat with you, even as I wait on Nugget #3!

- PORTRAITS!  Someone asked me this week if I was still doing family portraits. YES! and YES! Late Spring is already getting pretty booked and Summer dates are open. If you want to reserve a time, it's a great time to do it! Plan ahead!

- SENIORS!  I give you guys priority, so if you're graduating in 2017 and would like to schedule your senior session, the time is NOW! Deadlines come fast and furious at the start of the school year so don't be a last-minute type-person. This summer is a GREAT time to get them in and with the new studio opening, you can be one of the first to take advantage of the new digs!

- SPECIALS!  I'm currently booking for a MAY HEADSHOT MARATHON.  Yes, I do business headshots. Quite a few of them, actually and Spring, the time of renewal, is a GREAT time to update your business look. I'm running a special ($50 single headshots, $250 team) from May 15 to the 31st. If you're interested in getting in on this, you can either come to the studio or I can come to you with the mobile studio set up! Shoot me an email and let's get rid of that circa-1992 big-bangs and shoulder pads headshot, shall we?

Excuse the cell-phone pictures as of late. I've been far too lazy to pick up the "real camera".....besides, they're both on deck for the "big game" so I'm leaving them alone until then!

I promise, pictures of the Oncoming Storm won't be so fuzzy!

Molly had some minor surgery at the end of March (she had a blocked duct by her eye. Do you know how hard it is to get a 5 year old to sit still in order to take care  of a blocked duct? So yeah, they had to put her under.....funsies)Bucket cam…
